Yuan-wen Wang

(b 1985, Spain. Lives and works in Barcelona)

Drawing on western abstract art and eastern ink painting traditions; Wang's work fuses two worlds. Concerned with process rather than product; she approaches every act of creation with intention. She says: “The physical and mental process of creating my work holds more importance to me than the finished piece.” Wang sees her way of working as a form of spiritual purging.
