Selma Dronkers

(b 1957, Netherlands. Lives and works in Nijmegen)

Dronkers exploits the medium of drawing for its capacity to disintegrate; dissolve and change. Her desire to do so originates from an interest in temporality; transience and change; inspired by her love of the ocean. She says; “The basic principles of drawing fascinate me: lines; chromatic nuance; rhythm; materiality; how lines become surface.”
