Through his work; Sam Drake considers the disjointed nature of memory. Through a building up; layering; and stripping down process that relies on personal and found photographs as a starting point; Drake explores themes of nostalgia and fragmentation. The resulting work aims to express a feeling of familiarity and distance at the same time.
