Ryan Crudgington

Crudgington uses drawing to take well-known images from mass media and cartoons and then partially obscures them; using layers and recurrent symbols of her own. “I find symbols particularly attractive as subjects because they characterize the stuff of life: objects and actions and relationships;” she says. “In the broadest sense; the work I make is an attempt to arrange the stuff of my life in a meaningful way.
