Collection: Robyn Penn

(b 1973, South Africa. Lives and works in Johannesburg)

Robyn Penn is an artist; printmaker and teacher whose work reflects on the ambiguities of anxiety and wonder that characterise the natural world and its transformation through human intervention. Clouds; glaciers and oceans are recurring motifs in her work; imagery she uses to consider the unsettling realities of climate change. The influence of Romanticism and Japanese ukiyo-e painting is evident in her meditative renderings across media including painting; drawing; printmaking and sculpture.
