Collection: Rafael Bader
(b 1987, Germany. Lives and works in Leipzig)
Raffael Bader uses oil on canvas; watercolour on paper and various drawing techniques to largely create semi-abstract landscapes. His work considers his worldview; which is one that is full of tensions. As part of his creative process; he looks for elements in the wilderness that evoke a yearning for the natural environment on one hand; but also hold an underlying and subtle presence of danger. Bader's images emerge from this duality; he says: “I am particularly interested in the core elements of the apparitions. The forms found move between a strong abstraction and familiar structures.”
