Michael De Luca believes drawing is an end in its own right. Working exclusively with pastel on paper; he uses two-dimensional graphic shapes to explore gesture; motion; cause andeffect. His shapes are intentionally flat; but malleable;minimal;and complete; it's their uncoordinated ability to expand; stretch; slouch; or bend that most interests De Luca.
