Marco uses light and shadow as metaphors of publicness and withdrawal to address the discrepancy between socio-political expectations and demands; and the actual needs of real people - and the consequent mutual disappointment. His work includes unnatural colours and dramatic angles to highlight this disconnection that is deepened by social media; and hardened by a divisive and sensationalistic communication.
