Lyndi Sales

(b 1973, South Africa. Lives and works in Cape Town)

For the past couple of years; Sales has been working on a series of installations and artworks that seek to investigate the circumstances surrounding the controversial 1987 South African Aiways; Boeing Helderberg air disaster in which 159 people died. The constructions; based on this incident; made of intricately cut pinned paper and rubber; point to the fragile nature of our existence; temporality and the role of chance in all our lives.
