Leigh Tuckniss's practice widely examines themes of identity; mortality; and belonging. Leigh tends to isolate the subject matter in a vast negative white space; suspending the images; isolating them from their original context. More recently Leigh has been exploring masking subjects in washes of colour and mark-making. The layering and masking processes distance the images from their original source and meaning.
