Kiarash Alimi

Alimi blends bands of colour; development of his work through gradation and play. Operating within the framework of painterly abstraction; he subtly manipulates tone and colour. His paintings are what he calls “self-reflexive” and employ an approach ”˜thinking through doing'. “Too dad; can't tell is a series of drawings investigating the traumatic relationship between father and child as it is mirrored through the various parts of my drawing practice. Inspired by 1970-1 Bas Jan Ader piece I'm too sad to tell you; the series fluctuates between the articulate representation of multiple visual fragments and a constant stutter that prevents the actual image/significance from settling.”
