Physical engagement and the meditative act of slowing down are important aspects of Heinz's process as a photographer. His work seeks to counterbalance the fast pace of contemporary life. Working primarily in his darkroom; Heinz prints his own photographs by hand. Taking the formal rigidity of the built environment as a starting point; he composes photographs that convey stillness and balance.
