Julian Brown

In his work; Brown draws on nostalgic imagery from childhood; namely his father's love of Bauhaus and folkloric objects related to his mother's Polish heritage. His paintings explore the interplay between geometric; primitive and playful forms derived from these early influences. The resulting works move between order and chaos; structure and collapse; freewheeling expression and control.
