Collection: Jennifer Campbell

(Born in United Kingdom. Lives and works in 0)

Jennifer uses paint as both image and substance. Her practice occupies the space between pictorial surface and physical object; with paint acting as a transformative medium. Her work explores the fluidity of identity; deconstructing cultural ideas around gender; the sensation of being a physical body in space and time. She makes paintings on a variety of surfaces; often nontraditional; allowing the materiality of the surface to influence what she paints and how this imagery develops. She places importance on thinking through making; letting the painting lead the way forward and always allowing for interruption.
