Collection: Honor Greenwood

(b 1997, United Kingdom. Lives and works in London)

Positioned at the intersection of painting and sculpture; Greenwood's practice involves large-scale installation as well as works on paper and canvas. She begins her process by studying the movement of a single brush stroke. She then mimics this movement using various techniques to emulate its shape and flow. Greenwood's characteristic layering of paint creates texture and depth; sometimes pushing the work into the realms of sculpture and installation. The components of industry - machinery; pipework and cylindrical design; have a strong formal influence on her work. This manifests as an index of marks; shapes and forms.
