David Iain Brown

Taking inspiration from mundane objects; experiences and memories; Brown is interested in the space between abstraction and reality. His process involves the build up of layers in multiple works in his studio; adding; subtracting and making and unmaking over extended periods of time. In this way he gradually develops what he refers to as a ”˜history of marks' in each softly refined piece.
