Daniel Malan

(b 1991, South Africa. Lives and works in Cape Town)

Midway through 2016 Malan began a design internship with Kim Jones and Louis Vuitton Menswear. Returning to Cape Town at the start of 2018 he began freelance concept and design work for a number of local and international brands. In 2020 Malan and a partner founded Hot Days Cool Books; a bookstore focusing on African Art and Design. Malan's current studio focus has been on large scale chalk drawings; which have recently featured in a collaboration with menswear label Fields. In addition to drawing Malan takes photographs and short videos that have been featured in exhibitions; as well as a self-published book and zines.
