Collection: Alex March

(b 1978, United Kingdom. Lives and works in East Molesey)

Alex March used collage; film; painting; drawing and installation to collect and skew visual imagery as it reinforces patriachal norms. She is particularly interested in the female form; the feminine as allegory or cipher in popular culture and Art History. Cutting; editing; and rearranging takes me to that place of disconnection where images unmake and make themselves anew. I let the images take me where they will. Negative spaces; intermediate places of connection; and the interstices ( a tiny slice of line; where one image ends and another starts) are important.
