Claire Johnson is both an artist and part of a creative studio, Hoick, which she co-founded.
Her fabric works and paintings look at the relationship between humans and objects. By removing an object from its original context and reducing it to a two-dimensional shape, she questions whether the object can speak for itself. More recently her work has focused on the negative space an object creates, and the stories and secrets held within that space.
