“Art is a language that allows me to explore the realm of the physical and tangible and more specifically the natural environment. It is documented by my photos as well as found images that I have collected. The images range, from nature in its uncorrupted state to various stages of upheaval, increasingly complex and unstable.

The physicality of the materials; the texture of the paper and canvas and paint with its naturally flowing, pooling, branching and meandering properties may mimic natural processes such as accumulation and disintegration. They also present many possibilities beyond the literal reference images and allow me to work intuitively. This process of transition from the physical reality to the abstract idea is not a neat or linear progression towards an ultimate conclusion. It is rather an entanglement that loops backwards and forwards”.
