Sizwe Sibisi is a self-taught artist, working primarily with textiles. He sources fabrics from friends and neighbours – usually old, tattered clothes, which he then deconstructs and stitches onto larger-scale fabric works.
His recent work is a celebration of non-binary groups at pride marches. The colourful, collaged textile panels express their joyful, festive and lively carnivalesque character.
