Artist's statement
(b 1975DE. Lives and works in Cologne)
Marco Zumbé’s abstract paintings focus on line as a formative element and the visual affect of pattern and repetition. He aims to create works with atmospheric depth and narrative density, which play on the tension between meticulous process painting and unconscious intervention. Zumbé’s concerns extend beyond the canvas as he searches for new materials and possibilities for presentation. As such, his practice crosses over into sculpture and installation as well.Solo exhibitions
