Artist's statement

(b 1986GB. Lives and works in London)

Ryan Orme’s primary media are drawing, painting and sculpture. His work explores the relationship between our internal and external landscapes, and the role geographies play in shaping who we are. “I find cities very inspiring as spaces in which individual intentions and gestures amalgamate to make something vast,” he says, “how cities exist as complex organisms in their own right.” Through an intuitive approach to making, Orme hopes to create art that is as much felt as it is understood.
