Artist's statement

(b 1976ZA. Lives and works in Johannesburg)

Working mostly in oil paint with a firm focus on form and colour based on the mind’s interpretation of mountains and skies in landscapes. Bisschoff also works with printmaking, animation and sculpture, constantly innovating and appling new ideas, which can be seen in his use of found objects and the painted glass elements in his work. Mixing a wry sense of humour and irony into the works, they can be seen as comments on modern culture and life in general.
