Artist's statement
(b 1996ZA. Lives and works in Johannesburg)
Mabusela subverts gender norms in her art, drawing on stories collected from childhood, and more recent memories. Her prints feature motifs that reference the patterns and shapes of lace and doilies, provoking questions about society’s expectations of women’s roles.Group exhibitions
