Artist's statement

(b 1985ZA. Lives and works in Johannesburg)

Traversing the tensions between the organic and the constructed world, De Wet’s work is realised through etching, relief printing, paper-making, collage and drawing. Thematically, this practice centres on our increased alienation from the natural environment due to the built spaces we tend to inhabit.
