(b 1987GB. Lives and works in London)
Simon Job works with different materials and techniques within painting, photography and installation, finding ways to reinvent the conventions of each medium in order to explore its boundaries. His subjects range from environmental studies to more direct investigations into materiality and the nature of the media he’s using. Characterised by both an intuitive handling of materials and what could be described as a hands-off approach, Job’s work allows for a certain level of chance and detachment from the artistic process. It’s often when these two approaches converge – the systematic and the intuitive – that he feels the work becomes most compelling.Solo exhibitions
