Artist's statement
(b 1989KR. Lives and works in Los Angeles)
Kim paints gridded environments that are infused with everyday human encounters and elements of modern culture. His concepts and designs are derived from sources as disparate as architectonics to machinery and weightlifting, but all depend on underlying systems of order and structure. Kim’s colorful, geometric compositions are made from countless layers resulting from his method of create-and-destroy, resulting in pieces that embody cause-and-effect.Solo exhibitions
