Artist's statement

(b 1957NL. Lives and works in Nijmegen)

Dronkers exploits the medium of drawing for its capacity to disintegrate, dissolve and change. Her desire to do so originates from an interest in temporality, transience and change, inspired by her love of the ocean. She says, “The basic principles of drawing fascinate me: lines, chromatic nuance, rhythm, materiality, how lines become surface.”
