Artist's statement

(b 1989GB. Lives and works in London)

Stoddart is a painter who works with the collation and collaging of imagery to create self-contained worlds. Also a writer of stories, she is interested in how the edges of the canvas (like the bindings of a book) can acts as borders to an interior logic playing by its own rules. Using found imagery, particularly of food and feasting, she works from her imagination to form assemblages from her source material.
