(b 1989Taiwan. Lives and works in Taipei)
Chiayun's current practice is focused on painting and drawing. Her work is on the borderline of abstract and figurative. Each of them starts from a life experience. It could be a particular moment or a (day)dream. "The reason why the women are nude and faceless in my paintings is because they are raw and without statement. I would like to create environments that viewers can place themselves in."
My creative process is improvisational, I make marks on paper and canvas with acrylic paint, graphite and oil pastels. I let my subconscious take over, using lines and shapes to build imagery that reflects my emotional landscapes. Acrylic paint and oil pastel are the main media I work with.
