Brendon Erasmus’s work focuses on painting primarily, with a diverse range of media from sculpture and installation to video and performance. Fascinated by the fragile nature of human existence, his work lightly pokes at the triviality of being while simultaneously drawing attention to our significance as individuals through the subtle act of making. Erasmus’s neo-expressionistic works often include a combination of abstraction, figuration, portraiture, text, and punch-line humour aimed at everything from romanticised notions of love, death, pop culture, politics, technological advancements and the future.
