Langenieux-Villard’s series-based work combines a range of techniques. By studying restored doors, garages and windows through photography, she closely examines the process of deconstruction and repair; the residues and traces of these processes to form the starting point for subsequent works.
“My practice is a constant investigation,” she says, “I question the foundation of the support by playing with and disrupting the tension and materiality of the surface. I think of painting as a mode of construction.”
