(b 1988Italy. Lives and works in Milan)
Alba Deangelis’ interest in architectural photography began as a way of processing new surroundings. Growing up in the Mediterranean region of Puglia, she moved to Milan in her 20s. Photography helped Deangelis channel both the curiosity and uncertainty that came with this disorienting change of culture and environment, while also allowing her to find a place within it.
Deangelis’ work focuses on and isolates particular aspects of urban spaces; she then merges and abstracts these details to reflect on her life and experiences.
